All Aboard the Amtrak Santa Train
Special train to run December 2 between Charlotte and Salisbury
WASHINGTON – Amtrak and Santa invite kids of all ages to celebrate the holiday season on December 2 with a festive ride on the Santa Train, between Charlotte and Salisbury.
Jolly Ole St. Nick will depart Charlotte on board the Carolinian at 7:40 a.m. and greet all the good boys and girls in Kannapolis when the Santa Train makes a brief stop there at 8:07 a.m. The Salisbury Elf and Radio Disney Elves will greet Santa and the holiday travelers when the train arrives in Salisbury at 8:25 a.m.
While in Salisbury, the elves will entertain passengers with music, games and holiday goodies. Santa will return to Charlotte on board the Piedmont, departing Salisbury at 9:26 a.m., then making a stop in Kannapolis at 9:42 a.m., and arriving in Charlotte at 10:14 a.m.
Children ages 2 to 15 may travel at half the adult fare on board the Santa Train. Adult fares range from $8 each way traveling between Charlotte and Salisbury to $3 each way between Kannapolis and Salisbury. Up to two children may travel with each full-fare paying adult.
