am I allowed to bring UPS(for PC) as carry-on on Amtrak trains?

The only thing I'll have is a small backpack. I want to carry the UPS to my niece who is in college. The thing weighs 35 pounds, so it's not cost effective to ship.(and FedEx Ground and USPS don't seem to like these batteries)

Normally I would just toss the batteries and carry the UPS by itself. However, I just installed a new battery inside.

If you have it in a bag no one will notice I'm sure.

Sure! If you can carry it, it can be carried on. There's no restrictions on batteries on Amtrak for carry on baggage.

I have used a smaller version so it is allowed, That model uses Gel Cels so no issues there.

Should it be an updated model with Lithium Batteries, (unlikely), then the should be removed and carried separatly
