Amtrak continuous usage webcam?

I enjoy the Bailey yard cams very much but unfortunately there's no Amtrak going through there.
Does anyone know of a camera that shows one of of the busy City train yards such as Chicago or New York Etc that shows movements of Amtrak trains continuously?

I've compiled a list of railcams that show Amtrak trains passing by or in stations, but I haven't seen one on an Amtrak yard. All of the cams on this list are live and have 12-hour rewind available. The link is below:

Railcam Times

Times at cams between stations are estimates. The "clock rewind" icon at Transitdoc Amtrak Status is useful for determining when a train passed by. Some cams have Train Logs maintained by volunteers.

I update it about once a month because YouTube video links change from time to time.

On RailStream, LLC. - Live Railcams, there is a cam called MH Tower on the "racetrack" in Chicago which is adjacent to the Amtrak yard there (unfortunately out of view). There's a lot of Amtrak trains that use the wye there on that camera. Hoping that helps.

I tried going to the Railstream website. The home page came up, but every link on clicked on returned a "Not found on server" error. Maybe they're down for maintenance.

Are the cameras publicly available, or only to paid members?

That's weird that you received those errors. I just went there now and everything seems okay. @joelkfla Can you try again to see what happens?

On RailStream, there's a mix of paid and free cameras. The MH Tower camera that I'm referring to is a camera that you would need to have a paid membership to access.

As for free cameras that I frequent that see a good amount of Amtrak traffic are the Ashland VA Railcam, Springfield, MA Railcam, and the Paradise, PA Railcam. Hoping this helps.

It's working now, but I tried the Fullerton camera and it only goes back 30 minutes, not 12 hours. And there's an ad video blocking the lower right part of the screen, which never goes away and can't be closed. If I went to full screen on the video, the ad temporarily disappeared, but so did the timeline.

I only include cameras on my list that I would enjoy watching, and this one doesn't make the grade. Really, I made the spreadsheet for my own use, and then decided to clean it up and share it. The ability to go back and view an Amtrak train that passed a few hours ago is my main intent.

The other 3 cameras you mentioned are on my list; I think they're all VR sponsored cams.

I'm sorry to hear the Fullerton camera didn't work out for you. That has a lot of trains on the transcon in California. It includes Pacific Surfliners and Metrolink (plus BNSF freight, which I don't really care about). I'm able to rewind Fullerton about eight hours; however, I'm a paid subscriber on RailStream, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

The cameras that I frequent on RailStream are: MH Tower, Chicago MT Carmel, Fullerton, and Rocky Mount + Selma as they see pretty fair Amtrak traffic.

Like you @joelkfla, I'm looking for a railcam that shows quite a lot of constant Amtrak traffic. I think Fullerton and Ashland are pretty much the closest ones that I can find.

You can select RailStream as a streaming channel on Roku. The right free channels are available but it appears not to offer rewind at that level. If you are a paid subscriber, you play your "Engineer" locations.

Wouldn't call it "constant" and not as much as Fullerton, but the VR cam at San Juan Capistrano is almost all Amtrak Pacific Surfliner and Metrolink during the day; an occasional BNSF at other times.
Traffic may be down right now due to problems south of San Clemente.

I do appreciate the suggestion. This cam is cool, because it does compliment the Fullerton cam as Fullerton is on the transcon. I actually learned about the radio feed and ATCS for Fullerton from this cam. This is a cool cam suggestion though, @TinCan782. I appreciate the mention.

As an addition, Steel Highways recently released a railcam in Chicago that oversees the lines at Ogilvie Transportation Center and the lines to Milwaukee West and North. The camera mostly sees Metra traffic, but also now sees the Amtrak Hiawatha routes which run frequently to and from Chicago and Milwaukee.

It's a very busy line for passenger rail and has a scanner integrated into the feed as well.
