Amtrak seeks funding for serving FIFA World Cup 2026

FIFA World Cup is slated to be held in Seattle and Vancouver in 2026. Amtrak is asking for funding to serve that event with enhanced service on the Cascade Corridor for that period.

Well, they could eliminate the pointless customs stop at the border itself and fund additional agents at the Pacific Central Station preclearance facility. But that's for the southbound passengers heading for the US. Can Amtrak help fund additional CBSA agents for the northbound passengers heading into Canada?
