Politicians and other anti-passenger rail groups often complain about "subsidies" for passenger rail travel including Amtrak while LA Metro proudly announces "Metro Proudly Funds your Metrolink trip"!

Metro has, without a doubt, the best advertising and communications department in the transit industry. They love to point out all the good that the agency is doing... especially as we approach an election year where they could ask for a tax increase to fund more service.
