A daytime train via Lynchburg is not quite feasible at a running time of about 18.5 hours. One LD route that needs a day train is ATL - CLT - Raleigh - Richmond - WAS - NYP. Recognize that is in the LD definition range.
One via RGH is not quite feasible either at present with an estimated running time of 19+ hours. It might become borderline feasible after the PTB - RGH direct route is rebuilt, which should reduce the running time to around 17 hours, which is still a bit too much.
For comparison Palmetto NYP-SAV is 15.5 hr
Meteor NYP-JAX is 18hrs, which was tried for the Palmetto for a while but was discontinued.
Still, Atlanta being a much bigger potential source/destination of riders an 18.5 hour could be made to work as a stretch with a 5am departure from each end roughly speaking with arrival 11:30pm. The crew turns at Atlanta would be a bit ugly though, but maybe something could be made efficiently workable in conjunction with the Crescent.
