ASM Alerts, up until now, was limited to reporting only what Amtrak has in its tracking system. As convenient as that is, the alerting emails are notably absent when times are not posted to Amtrak's tracking system. The first notification that a train is in trouble, to an astute subscriber, is that there is no email forthcoming for the train's next station. In other words, the absence of the email implies that the train is overdue. However, there could be many reasons why there is no email, including the failure of ASM Alerts itself. To counteract that, ASM Alerts will now notify you if a train becomes overdue, considering both the train's lateness and your lateness reporting criterion.
