Breaking news on a Fatal collision between a Redline Commuter Train and an SUV during Rush Hour this morning! :( According to Sketchy New Reports ("if it bleeds it leads"! ), an SUV containg three adults ran across in front of a Redline Train in North Austin by the MOPAC Expressway (aka "Mo Pac Parking Lot!)The crossing was a marked , but no Gates, Private road leading to a Warehouse and the train was rolling along about 50mph. The SUV was pushed about 200 yards down the tracks, and the Driver was prounced DOA @ the scene! The two SUV pax are in the emergency room undergoing treatment. No passengers on the train, which carried about 125 ^_^ !, were injured and they were "Bustituted" after a two hour delay for investigation/cleanup etc. The North part of the tracks between the accident scene and Leander are closed, trains are running normally south of the scene and downtown. Best guess cirrently is the tracks will be opened for rush hours this afternoon, the pictures showed no real dmage to the train, the SUV looks like a it ran through a Crusher!

Redline Trains ring their Bell and Horn constantly when approaching Crossings and Public Ones are Double Gated, but Austin still has lots of Unprotected Private Crossings with just signs in the out of the City Limits part of the Route! Several of the Neighborhoods in the City have "No Horn" Orders in place, just a matter of time till there's more fatalities the way the idiots here drive!
