Booked on LSL in July...what to expect in ALB

My family is booked on LSL in July, picking it up in WOR. We will be in coach. What happens in ALB, do we need to get off and cross the platform for another train? or do we just stay on and wait for them to join trains? I'm asking because there are 6 of us, 3 adults and 3 children and one of the adults is semi handicaped. Any input would be appreciated.

My guess is that they would just connect your train with the NYP-ALB section and you won't have to move.

You just need to stay in your seat. Amtrak will do the coupling, thought IIRC you're allowed to step off during the joining process if you wish.

This is the new procedure starting last fall. A year ago, it was necessary to change trains in ALB.

(Though the ``new'' procedure was also the old old procedure until roughly five years ago.)
