I'll do it! Good to see that plans are underway for the project. :D
No, I'll do it! I agree, its looking more and more likely that we'll be getting this fleet, at least a better chance than its been in a long time.

Principal Engineer salary seems a little below what I would expect for that kind of responsibility. $57,500 is about what a sanitation worker or bus driver in NYC.

That's a minimum/starting salary. Also, I've seen job postings for bus drivers with starting salary around $20,000.

57 grand a year to be a bus driver or garbage man?! Hell it looks like Im moving to NYC, I like to drive big vehicles and I will be making more then my dad who is a union pipefitter!

Im sorry but 57 grand for a city bus driver or sanitation worker seems way steep to me

Yeah, but the cost of a small studio apartment in most areas of NYC is no less (that I have seen) than $1500 per month (if you want something halfway decent that is)!!! And that is just the beginning. Those who own property up there pay some of the highest property taxes there is known to man in my opinion. That salary would be the same as trying to make it in a place like Daytona Beach, FL on $28,000 per year.

According to the post, this salary range starts at $57,000. Like many others, I would suspect that the ultimate salary would be much higher, given that it's based in New York City.......and, that type of engineering expertise isn't terribly easily found!

The good news is(maybe).....this is the first step toward seeing some new Viewliner(or other) equipment, which, should be seen as a continued commitment to the long distance intercity train!

Looks as though it has been filled, its no longer posted. Darn, I wanted it! :(
Not eaxactly, the 7 day application period has ended. Mostly likely there will be a board of reviers who go over the applications and interview the applicants. If they find someone they like, he/she will be hired. If no one qualified for the job, it will be reposted.
