Does anyone know off hand what time the metro lounge opens in the mornings?

The Cap arrives at 845 if on time and sometimes earlier. I would guess as well 8am or before the Cap arrives.

Official Hours are 8AM-9:00PM, but it actually Closes when the the Sleeping Car Passengers are Taken on the Kindergarten Walk to Board the Lake Shore Ltd.

8:00am is correct, you can't get in there before the early morning departures of the Hiawatha, Carl Sandburg, Lincoln Service, and Wolverine.

The "Kindergarten Walk" is at 8:00 p.m. for the Sleeping Car passengers (just took it Sunday night). I would assume the Lounge is still open til 9:00 for late-arriving passengers that don't attend the Wine & Cheese reception.
