Does the Club Acela Lounge at Penn Station have a storage room to hold luggage, such as the Metropolitan Lounge in Chicago has?

We had no concerns about leaving our luggage there for a couple of hours to go to lunch. No cost. It is like airline clubs. You walk in the door, check in and the storage area is to your right. It is just an area with shelves where you can store your bags. A lot of bags will be there so I would think a thief would have a hard time distinguishing a bag full of clothes from one holding a valuable. If you have a backpack or other bag with a strap, interlock it with your bigger bags to make a quick grab difficult. Otherwise put small ones behind the big ones. I would say that anyone going through bags would be pretty noticeable.

Plus the storage area is right Kitty Korner to the front desk and with usually 2 attendants on duty and often a Recap or 2 standing by someone is going to think twice before going "shopping."

In addition the police come in with their dogs to check for explosives mainly in the luggage area quite regularly!

Did it change?

When I was there last, the luggage area was right next to the (exit) door, and the attendants desk was a bit away. Add to that, that there is a wall between the luggage area and the attendants, I was always worried that someone could, when the attendants were busy, slip in, grab some luggage, and be back out the door unnoticed.

When you come in you enter a vestibule area and are facing the check in desk. To your right is the baggage storage area which is basically a narrow hallway that opens into the vestibule. The opening is visible to the desk and when Red Caps are around they often stand near the openeing to be out of the way of the main doors.

True, if the place is mad busy someone could run in, grab something at random and run out but the attendants I have seen are quite eagle eye and nothing gets past them-and they are quite friendly to boot!

Any time I've tried to get into the Club Acela the door is locked. So you have to buzz the door, the attendant lets you in.
