This mornings CS had a second SSC instead of the PPC, but it also had two Silver card, the "Silver Lariat" and the "Silver Solarium". They were beautiful to see.
Ryan, the PV that I saw this summer on the CS, and the EB, were both on the tail of the train. Of course, both had open platforms too, so I'm sure it was requested.......Where were they in the consist? When they run private cars on Superliner trains, do they run them between the bag and the transdorm so that they have access to the train, or are they tacked onto the end and isolated?
:hi: Ive seen many private varnish on the Texas Eagle, always at the rear of the Superliners. When I rode the Cardinal to PHL for NTD in May the Private cars put on in Indy for WAS were placed on the back but with the platform on the biz car facing forward which IMO sucks! :wacko:Where were they in the consist? They were on the end of the consist, they always have been on the past as well. I've got a grabbed pic on my computer but I cannot figure out how to upload it to this site. If anybody can help I'll put it up. It is not great, but you can see the last car.Ryan, the PV that I saw this summer on the CS, and the EB, were both on the tail of the train. I've been on the Silver Solarium, nice. Very, very nice...
If you are willing to send it to me via email I can put it up.I've got a grabbed pic on my computer but I cannot figure out how to upload it to this site. If anybody can help I'll put it up. It is not great, but you can see the last car.
The PV must meet Amtrak standards in order to be in the consist, and as the PV's use HEP (with a few exceptions), it must also pass through. In my PV experiences, the car is tacked on the end, whether single-level or Superliner.I would assume that PV would have to be at the end of the train unless HEP can be run through them.
OK. Just how do you put it up?If you are willing to send it to me via email I can put it up.I've got a grabbed pic on my computer but I cannot figure out how to upload it to this site. If anybody can help I'll put it up. It is not great, but you can see the last car.
You can create an account at http://photobucket.com/ or any number of similar image hosting sites that allow inline image links and then paste the image URL here in the forum with [img] tags around it.OK. Just how do you put it up?
What is a SSC? Is it a Sightseer Lounge (SSC = Sightseer car). Not sure I caught the meaning of SSC. I assume it's a SSL.This mornings CS had a second SSC instead of the PPC, but it also had two Silver card, the "Silver Lariat" and the "Silver Solarium". They were beautiful to see.
Thanks, I'll give that a try. Actually, I thought that it was possible to upload an image to the page itself like a lot of other sites. You can create an account at http://photobucket.com/ or any number of similar image hosting sites that allow inline image links and then paste the image URL here in the forum with [img] tags around it.OK. On the bottom left of the photobucket page or the AU edit page?Nice.
At the bottom left of that page, there's a box that says "share this image" - if you copy the last line that says "IMG Code" and paste it here, this:
Turns into this:Code:[img=http://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee464/leemell/SilverCarsontheCS.jpg]
What can you tell us about the quality of the ride, food & drink? (I'm considering purchasing a ticket on one of these cars in the future.)It was my first time in those cars and it was a very enjoyable experience. One of the best parts was that the cost of the trip was actually less then the price of Amtrak coach tickets. And that didn't even count the bottomless alcohol and brunch on the way down, or the desserts and wine on the way back.
