Curtains open and enjoy the view.
I'm referring to an upper level room/roomette, NOT an upper bunk! Please tell us if you prefer sleeping in your roomette or bedroom with the curtains open or closed at night and why?
Open. If its dark in the room so you can see out, its difficult for someone outside to see in. If you're upper level on a Superliner, its even more difficult to look in.
It's not totally impossible however.I'm referring to an upper level room/roomette, NOT an upper bunk! Please tell us if you prefer sleeping in your roomette or bedroom with the curtains open or closed at night and why?

What I meant was: Kansas has zero light pollution at night. It's not like other areas where you go through city after city after city and have a pretty constant onslaught of streetlights and such.WOW, so is Florida!!! :lol:Kansas is very dark at night
Sorry couldnt resist!!!
Unless you are Superman and have X-Ray Vision! :lol:Correct.OK, so I take it that you cannot see out the window in a Superliner from the upper bunk. Is that right?
That is the same thing I did and do. Need to be more specific!I marked CLOSED since until after I voted, I assumed it was INSIDE curtains. At night the OUTSIDE curtains are always left open. About the only chance of someone seeing you is if you are in the Lower of a Viewliner or in a Lower Room on a Superliner.
Well, you can see the ground or adjacent tracks it there are any. ;-)Thanks Anthony and Jim Hudson.

Yeah, that's pretty much all I saw from the upper bunk looking down through the top of the window. I was able to see a sign at Pittsburgh indicating where we were which explained why we were not moving for a while.Well, you can see the ground or adjacent tracks it there are any. ;-)Thanks Anthony and Jim Hudson.

The bottom line is, it doesn't bother me if someone sees in, day or night. I want to see out, day or night! It's not totally impossible however.I'm referring to an upper level room/roomette, NOT an upper bunk! Please tell us if you prefer sleeping in your roomette or bedroom with the curtains open or closed at night and why?

The person from the outside would have to be a ways away from the train to see in. I'm not sure if you can actually see much detail looking from outside at an upper floor of the Superliner. I think you can see if they are sitting by the window, but not much more. Of course, it would be a good idea to close those if you are changing clothes, etc., even during the day.
