Does anyone have information about whether #10031 "Ocean View" dome car is going to be on the Adirondack this year? I have never rode it on that route before and thought it would be fun... and got tickets for a weekend trip up to Rouses Point and back to New York City... along with my wife, sister, and friend.

Now I am hearing it's going to be on the Downeaster until September 24 -- and then will be going to the Surfliners in October.

No news anywhere what-so-ever on the Adirondack for Fall 2017 that I can see.

Will it still run on the Adirondack for a few weeks before going back out to California? (Even if it does, it seems like it won't be on #68 and #69 as long as in years past because it has stayed on through November 1... meaning the information about Surfliners in California would be wrong)

Thanks! If it's not going to run, I'd rather know sooner than later because we are renting 3 out of the 4 rooms at a B&B in Rouses Point and would like to let the innkeeper know our intentions.

They say that on the Amtrak Surfliner blog, 2 things could be at play....1) NY won't ante up 2) Since the Northern NY leaf season tends to be a touch early, maybe they are going for Sept and just part of Oct before it goes West... We will know soon enough.

Hoping that's the case -- we are planning to go Sept 30 and Oct 1. It's quite irritating we are 45 days out and Amtrak hasn't announced anything. Typical though from past experience. Atleast we are coming out and going back on Southwest Airlines, so that we can change our flight around with no penalties if it's not running.
