I don't know if there are USA "made for TV" train company shows, but there have been quite a few "fly on the wall" such shows here in the UK.

Folk might enjoy a look at the work from staff points of view?

The staff do know they are being filmed, and so are on their best behaviour, but even so it gives a flavour of their workday.

This company was taken over by LNER, which will in turn be re-nationalised in the future.

I understand that the east coast main is getting overhead electric catenary, seem well past the traffic volume in need. Did the UK government ever give out a timeline for completion?
The ECML is already electrified, was done in stages starting in the 1970s with completion to Edinburgh in 1991. 25 KV 50 Hz Overhead catenary.
