Freight derailment Ravenna Ohio. 29 & 30 service disruption

Large freight derailment in Ravenna Ohio will cause both 29 and 30 to likely bus passengers between CLE & PGH. 29 already in PGH. 30 unknown. Passengers and crews likely to switch trains, turn around and head back to CHI and WAS. Might also just put 29 passengers on 49 in CLE for the trip to Chicago. No word from Amtrak about what course they will take.

16 cars, the news said. It could have been terrible since there are houses close to the tracks in that area. They also said that the tracks should be opened again by morning so hopefully not too much disruption.

I am not sure if it still is that way, but there used to be several ways to detour around that spot, and without losing too much time...

I notice that transitdocs is showing 30 as originating in Pittsburgh. I wonder if they terminated yesterday's 29 and turned it in Pittsburgh to become today's 30.

I read a thread on trainorders that stated that 29 terminated in Pittsburgh last night with no alternate transportation. That equipment is operating as today's 30 out of Pittsburg. Yesterday's 30 out of Chicago never departed.
