Hello from New Jersey

I'm 46Dover of New Jersey. I actually had been here since March but hadn't been on since until now. I have to say this forum setup is similar to the one on NYC Transit Forums which I'm also a member of.

A little about me: I'm a bus operator, was an Amtrak rider, my favorite era of Amtrak was 80s to early 90s with mostly Heritage equipment and the Metroliner rail cars which I have HO Scale models of each.

I don't care much for the Acela, nor do I like the new AMTRAK logo, which is why I was so delighted to see Phase 3 colors making a comeback on the new Viewliners. What I'd also like to see is the Heritage Series painted on the new ACS64s as on the GE Genesis units.

Look forward to discussions and banter on all things Amtrak.

Belated welcome to AU! It's good to have another member from Jersey to replace our two members that moved to Florida!

Do you drive between Jersey and New York or just on the Jersey side? I have a nephew that lives in Newark who used to commute daily but now he gets to work in town so the commute thru the Tunnel and Bridges is history! He's much happier but isn't wild about the Governor! LOL

I too used to ride the Metroliners between WAS,PHL and NYP and lime you prefer them to Acelas!

I'm old enough to have ridden passengers trains for almost 30 years before Amtrak, and I too have a fondness for the Heritage cars, especially the Domes,Lounges and the wonderful Sleepy Hollow seats!

Yes I drive from NJ into Port Authority Bus Terminal and lol at your nephew's disgust with the Governor although that is fixing to be a thing of the past

My main train of Amtrak travel was The Crescent from Lynchburg Virginia to Penn Station NY when we lived in Brooklyn.
