If one person out of a group misses train?

My family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) have a family bedroom reserved to travel from Chicago to new Orleans. the train leaves Chicago at 8 pm. I am concerned that if my husband cannot get out of work on time he would miss the train. I'd like to have the kid and I still get on. would they board us if one person is missing?

Yes, provided you have proof of reservation number and names by paper tickets or electronic device.

Yes, that shouldn't be a problem at all as long as you have the proper ID's required and the eTicket for the trip. Simply tell the conductor when he/she scans the ticket that your husband was unable to make the trip; something came up at the last minute.

Perhaps try and call before departure as well and perhaps get his railfare refunded?
