One time I hung around with a trainspotting cat as we watched freights pass by the San Antonio Amtrak station. He seemed to have the schedule memorized and sometimes looked annoyed as if the train was running late or had some sort of mechanical problem that only he could hear.
Well, the cat was replacing a previous cat, so it's not like they're engaging in workforce attrition or an unusually creative response to labor issues...
(Though at a few stations, putting a cat in charge might result in more consistent service.)
