Arrive @ the Hotel(Inn@Queen Ann),a converted apt. house close to SEA Center/Space Needle etc.

Great place for the price( :) folks from all over the world/different ages/persuasions etc.Clean/all the

comforts including a kitchen/only drawback no elevator for the top two floors!Friendly staff, check in/

unpack  /shower and rest before going to the SEA Center/ride the mono-rail downtown(great bargain @ $2

for seniors),Stacy loves Nordstroms?Im asronished by the prices! Look aroun d downtown/ride back up and

have an early supper(dinner to yankees! )in a fish and chip joint thats great!Watch the sunset over the water

(were two blocks away!),stock up @ a nearby Supermarket and watch a little Tv after visiting in the neat

courtyard with friendly folks!Lots touring the NW(Vamcouver/Alaska etc.)most flying  but some on trains!

To sleep and dreaming of the days to come!

After a nice Con breakfast(included),we take the free( )shuttle to Pike Market, join the throngs watching the

famous fish tossing(remeinds me of the pld SNL skits!),then catch the ferry to Bambridge Island, a real good trip

as our driver said!We have a great deli lunch in the small village(its a walk in the warm sunshine for those

out of shape!(moi!)but fun!Upon return we look around Pioneer Square, unfortunately the water front trolley

is now a bus, whats up with that, sort of like NOL replacing the street cars with busses!)We then ride the again free busses back up the hill to the hotel, shower and change, have a light supper in a local burger and ice cream joint that

reminds me of places from the 50s!Once again visit with some friendly folks in the courtyard/hit the sack early

after a full and fun day in sunny, warm and beautiful Seattle!

Awaken early/con breakfast/pack and go ride the elevator to the top of the Space Needle, its a sunny but hazy day

but great views of Mt. Rainier.the bay/other snow capped mountains and ships.ferries and Seattle! Its a must do,

just like the Empire St. building in NYC,the Golden Gate in SF etc.!Of course Stacy has to visit the gift shop! :)

Then its time to check out/hop the free( )shuttle to the King Street station and prepare to board the EB!!! :) :) :)

We eat lunch from a sandwitch shop in Pioneer Square, visit the beautiful Union Station next door that Paul Allen

beat the City too,it could still be used for a train station,King street has potential, still a work in progress but

currently hard to reach/leave nd the interior work is still needed badlY!Hope they get it done in this century!

Watch a couple of TALGOS come/go/The commuters start rolling in/out,the crowd fills the lobby for the EB,

we get to have our own gate for the sleepers, soon #8 rolls into the station,we find our sleeper,5900,board,find

Bedroom C,I walk the train to get the consist,no numbers but 3 engines(?)/baggage/transition sleeper/

two sleepers(ours is next to the diner),diner,3 coaches! Our SCA Jeff is a 30=yr. vet, very friendly and

professional, the champagne is cold and we load up and prepare to hit the rails N by NW by NE(should be a

movie title! )on another crack train of my dreams!More to come in the next part, this is too long

and I apologize for no pics and the vaguedetails as our camera and my notebook disappead as we

will disclose later in this never ending(I hope as the traveler would say!)journey!Goodbye

Beautiful Seattle, its been a joy!

They can't run the water-front Trolley any more because there is no place to park the cars at night. That's because they tore down the Trolley Barn to make room for a controversial "sculpture park" instead.

That's a pretty neat trick boarding the City of New Orleans in Seattle.

I'm guessing that you boarded the 830 car, maybe 831.
