Just arrived @ 5:30pm @ the UP Station (ex MoPac) in Taylor (the Amtrak Stationis a Picnic Table with a Shed)to catch the Texas Eagle #21 to Austin!

The Williamson County Drug Task Force is inside the UP Building waiting on #21 to arrive! The Task Force consists of Williamson County Sheriff Deputies, Taylor Police, UP Police, Constables, DPS and DE Agents!( ,Don't see any armored vehicles, TSA, HLS or SWAT Teams!)

Since I'm the only one catching the Eagle I'm guessing they're waiting on someone arriving on the Train or its just a Drill to show the Flag!!

Hey, you talking about my BBQ sauce!?! Hmm, maybe I should get my daughter to make some and bottle it ... just for those members who are going to the gathering. :p

So what if it was only a "drill". Taylor TX had a total of 5,425 passengers boarding or alighting in FY2013. Or ~15 a day or ~7 per train. That could be covered by 2 local cops on patrol duty visually checking passengers to see who looks like they might have a duffle bag full of pot.

I protest the waste of taxpayer dollars on this sort of security theater. They would deserve it if they invited a member of the local press to show off the awesome power of the Task Force and the only passenger that got off the train was a 80 year grandmother. Who they then proceed to subject to full check procedure, just because they have to do something to write up in the report. :rolleyes:

You mean like what they did in Savannah? I mean, you really gotta be careful about those terrorists that are getting OFF of trains!
