I was looking through some old Passenger Train Journels (early 1980s) and it listed a train, known as the Silver Palm. The Silver Palm ran between Tampa and Miami. It was usually consisted of an two AMII coaches and one AFII lounge. Does anyone have a schedule of this train and when its discontinuous was?

Is this different from the renamed Palmetto from the late 90s to late 2002?

I was looking at this wikipedia page about the Palmetto.

"From the late 90s to late 2002, the Palmetto was known as the Silver Palm (part of the Silver Service brand)."

I have both timetables bookending that one. It must be only ran that season. Are you sure it actually ran? The Amtrak Timetables are carpetbombed with trains that never actually ran.

Found it in Amtrak's April 1985 Southeast Timetable.
Silver Palm 1985

It is not in my October 1986 timetable so it looks like it didn't last long.
I remember seeing this in the timetable as a child. I never knew it was only a few coaches... I actually looked on the board when I tooked the train to Tampa last spring but didn't see it and figured that was the route it has gone...

Yes, it actually ran because I rode it from Fort Lauderdale to Tampa. It left Miami in the morning fairly close to the first train to New York and was somewhat similar to the current Silver Star schedule between Miami and Tampa. So far, it has been only train funded by the state of Florida. I believe the funding only lasted a year and the new legislature didn't provide funding to the train was discontinued. That Silver Palm ran with 2 Amfleet and an Amcafe. If I remember correctly, one set of equipment made a round trip from Miami to Tampa.
