Hi all!! Quick question, If I have a suitcase which is the maximum size for a carry on(28x22x14) will that fit over above our coach seats? Or will we have to keep it elswhere on the train. It is exactly those measurements. Just wondering. Was hoping to be able to have it stay where I can see it. thanks

You didnt indicate if you were going to be on a Superliner which has a luggage rack downstairs and overhead racks over your seats, or single level cars in the East which have ample room @ the end of the car and also overhead! Either way it should be no problem long as you carry it yourself! You can also check luggage if your departing and arrival station have baggage check!

Don't confuse carry on luggage size on a plane with the carry on size on Amtrak! If you can carry it, the bag will probably fit in the overhead rack - or as Jim said in the lower level luggage rack on Superliners or at the end of the car on single level Amfleets. The only real problem is if it's 6 feet long and you may have trouble getting the corner.

However, it has luggage rack downstairs and upstairs, next to the stairs.
