luggage storage

I have a return trip from Penn Stat. in NYC to Washington DC. I have to leave some luggages for 2 days.

1- Is there a storage office at Penn St. in Nyc? How to find it easily?

2- How much will it cost?

3- Is the storage office open at 6 a.m. ?

Can you please give me answers?

Most stations with baggage service will hold luggage at the recently increased rate of $4/bag. I think NYP was always higher, though. The "storage office" is the baggage room.

A question Max - is this checked baggage or carry-on?

If checked, you can check it early, and there will be no charge. Since you said 2 days I'm going to assume you'll have a hotel. Most hotels will hold baggage for you.

If you are arriving on a train where those bags are checked, DO NOT retrieve them upon arrival. Amtrak will hold unclaimed baggage in a secure room for 2 days before they start to access a storage fee!

Since the OP is going from NYP to WAS, I assumed he wanted to use day storage for carry on bags, since there is virtually no checked baggage service NYP to WAS except overnight on 66/67.

Speaking of bag storage prices, what is the current price to store a bag in Los Angeles?

Actually you can check baggage on any train between NYP and WAS that has checked baggage service (Silvers, Crescent, etc...). The checked baggage can travel between those cities on those trains, it's just that you as a passenger can not travel on those trains between those cities! :excl:

I believe all except a few cities (like NYP and WAS) now charge $4 per bag for day storage, cash only.
