The title says it all...

Merry Christmas to all of you!!!!

If you are traveling, may your trains be on time, filled with pleasant company, & good food!

8 minutes early!!! :D

Merry Christmas to everyone here as well - looking forward to a good year of a honeymoon trip and a trip to the gathering. This could be the year for Select or Select Plus!

Merry Christmas to all! And, for those not fortunate enough to ride or see Amtrak today, here's a trackside video I shot tonight from Lynchburg on Christmas Eve night: The trainset which arrived as Amtrak 171 has turned and is returning past Kemper St Station to park overnight; Christmas morning, this will be

.
(And that marvelous singing crew member, from 171 on Tuesday? He was on Thursday's 171 as well, so I saw him in the station afterwards :) )

Merry Christmas to you and your family and friends.

May 2010 be a wonderful year for you.

Seasons Greetings people!

Some of us are off to work in a little while.....

Meanwhile, a little taste of small German steam traction in the snow!

Who has time to say Merry Christmas? I gotta make breakfast for 10 people, so Happy Holidays will have to suffice. :D

Great pic, Neil_M!

Happy Holidays from Orlando, Florida. It is 74 degrees, but we will have a light rain off and on all day, so our weather is not exactly perfect, but close enough.

:)

Holiday Greetings from New Jersey. It is 35 degrees and the ground is covered with about 8 inches of beautiful white snow!!

Merry Christmas from Chico, California. It is sunny and beautiful, although quite frosty. I've had to go out and break the ice on the birdbaths twice this morning.

I'm headed down to the bay area to spend the day with my mom, my two sisters, my niece and nephew, and who knows how many others. My older sister calls the shots and the rest of us fall into line, if we know what's good for us! (That's why my husband always escapes to Virginia for Christmas to spend the holiday with our older son and his family. He's such a smart man!)

Hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Christmas Day!

Hello from Los Angeles, and Merry Christmas to the AU family. One of my gifts came early this year when I discovered Amtrak Unlimited. I've learned much, laughed often, and more deeply enjoyed my train trips as a result of joining the AU Community. May 2010 be full of memorable Amtrak trips and the interesting stories that always accompany them!

Happy Holidays to all the AU family from rainy Ohio. Yes, rainy. I guess that's better than snow. ;)

Thank you mister, so what did you do for breakfast then?!

(Remember pancakes are a dessert option, not a breakfast thing!)

Merry Christmas to all from blizzardy (is that a word??) Iowa. Did I mention that we're having a White Christmas??

On Jan.11th, we are "Amtraking" to Florida for a 2 week cruise...can't wait!

Pancakes, yeah, but not of the Aunt Jemima variety, and certainly not a dessert option. Made a type of potato pancakes called latkes - grated potato and onion, seasonings, fried up and served with sour cream and applesauce. The niece married into a fairly nonobservant Jewish family, so there's a sort of merging of holiday traditions. Also made ham & eggs, toasted up some bagels with various toppings, and like that.

The combination doesn't always go smoothly, with the two sides of the family glowering at one another from opposite sides of the room. So I always mention that there are no decent delicatessens in SLO. This is a subject that all can agree upon, and things move forward nicely from there.

BTW, on the gift front my sister presented me with a 24-DVD set called "Trains of North America." Nice!

Finally, now that the holiday is over I can go back to being a curmudgeon. Phew! That Mr. Nice Guy act really takes a lot out of a guy.
