Can I buy a ticket from New Haven to Poughkeepsie on Metro North or do I just have to buy two separate tickets? Can the New Haven ticket agent sell me a ticket from Harlem to Poughkeepsie?
I've never tried something like that, but I would hope that the agent could sell you such a ticket, or certainly both tickets needed. I know on the LIRR interline transfers are indeed possible, so the computer system itself can deal with it. The question is, did MN program their side to handle it? And that I don't know. But again, even if the TVM can't sell you such a ticket, or two tickets, then the agent should be able to do so.
