I am landing in Newark Airport with my mother. We need to catch the Amtrack Acelus train to Manhattan, but my mom has knee problems and can't climb stairs.. Anyone have suggestions on how to get from our terminal to the Acelus train without climbing stairs? (We land on a Tuesday at 4pm.

Thanks!

Newark Airport and the rail station are fully accessible, so there are elevators wherever you need them. To get from the airport to the rail station, you use the AirTrain, a small people-mover monorail train. Follow the signs at the airport for the AirTrain, then take it to the rail station.

While Amtrak serves the airport station, Amtrak's high speed train, the Acela, does not. You can take an Amtrak Northeast Regional from the airport to Manhattan. A better choice would be to use the NJ Transit train to Manhattan (New York Penn Station). It leaves from the same station as Amtrak, runs at least twice an hour, and is cheaper than Amtrak. You can buy NJ Transit tickets at the airport rail station.
