What time does your flight arrive at SFO? If early enough it looks like you can catch a BART at the airport that will take you to Oakland. Got to be cheaper than Uber.
You may also already have the Lyft app and be familiar with it. If not, I would recommend that you get it. Arriving late into Reno last fall - Uber wanted $50 for a trip from Amtrak to the airport. Same car, same driver was $20 on Lyft! Usually there’s only a buck or two difference, I don’t know what was going on that evening.
Uber was doing "Surge" Pricing!

Our flight arrives at SFO at 5.10pm. Is that early enough to get the BART? And yes I do have the Lyft app but it isn't in use here where we live. Thanks Cal H

It looks like BART runs up until midnight. You would want to see how close it would get to your hotel.
We got off one evening at 19th st. We were a bit uncomfortable at street level as it was getting dark and there wasn’t a lot of pedestrian traffic…

Thanks for the advice on that Cal H. I'll have a close look at it. Cheers
