"Newbie" help, please?

I've spent some time reading a lot, not all, previous topics/posts and I am amazed at how knowledgeable those who post are and I'm hoping one kind person will answer what is probably a stupid question but here goes.............

Bought tickets for two one-way trips from Harrisburg, PA to Portland, OR., back to Harrisburg for myself. Reservation/tickets purchased Aug 22, '15.

Sept. 8, I receive email from Amtrak announcing "Pre-Registration" for Double-Days. I register and get confirmation from Amtrak.

Q. Will I get double points for travel booked BEFORE Double-Day announcement/registration for travel COMPLEATED DURING Double-Day promotional period? My travel begins Oct and finishes in Nov, all within the Double-Day promotional period.

You get the points when you travel, not when you bought the tickets.

Yep, you're good to go! The points are for when you travel during the promo period, not when you book!

Not a stupid question at all--a very logical one if you are new to how Double Days works. Sounds like a lovely trip--Harrisburg is one of my favorite quiet getaway places, and Portland is on my bucket list. I wish you a fantastic trip! Consider writing up a trip report for us when you're back--we love reading them!
