Of course, things like the aerial tram aren't open on Sundays, but the group did that last year at the Seattle gathering. So let us know if you're interested in joining us. Feel free to PM me if you wish. Hope you can come along!
The tram is most certainly open on Sundays, or perhaps I should say on the Sunday that you're planning on. From May 20th through September 16th, the tram is open on Sundays from 1 to 5 PM.

Not saying that you want to ride it again, but it is certainly doable if people want.

Thanks for the update. I didn't realize that they had separate summer hours. I got my information from when I was there a few weeks ago.

Just a reminder that the PDX mini-gathering is still on the calendar. Let us know if you will be able to attend!

Based on the replies we've gotten thus far, JayPea and I are suggesting Sunday, August 12, and the days surrounding it. The main event would be on Sunday, in between the arrivals of 500, 27, 501, and 504, and the departures of 14, 28, 507 and 508. Thus, people who want to do a day trip can do so, and folks who want to stay longer can stay over Saturday and/or Sunday nights.

Looks like the weekend weather in Portland will be sunny and warm -- great weather for a mini-gathering! So far, I know of half a dozen people who are planning to attend -- more are always welcome!

Please PM me to let us know how and when you are planning to arrive, so that we can meet up with you. See you at PDX Union Station!

Looks like the gathering is starting on Saturday :) We have a small but enthusiastic group! Anyone in the neighborhood is still welcome to join us.
Aloha

Enjoy!

Wish I could join you.
Eric, I wish you could, too. Maybe we'll be able to have a gathering in your part of the world someday, if they manage to get trains re-established there.

Wish I could make it too but my wife had a torn tendon repaired yesterday, she well be off until Nov. or Dec.

I say she is just practicing for her retirement, due to be June 2013.

She says "Hello" to Eric, Joe, Betty, Kevin, Misty and all the other AUers she has met.

Sorry, and best wishes to your wife. We're having several last-minute cancellations, so it looks like it will be a micro-gathering. However, the weather in PDX looks like it will be very nice, so our small group should have fun nonetheless. I hope to see more folks in PHL.

No Bigfoot sightings, and the Mothership Powell's is on the agenda for tomorrow morning. I've posted some comments about the weekend's happenings in the Travelogues section.
