In the land of $1 pizza slices, I would expect SOMEONE to find $1 pints!
Sadly, the economics of pizza are a bit different than the economics of beer!

There are many, many bars in NYC that will have good beers on draft (including the various local microbrews), but expect to pay $7-$10 a pint.

Grand Central Oyster Bar has $4 pints and $1.25 oysters during their happy hour. I was in fact staying in the hotel next door during one of their Saturday happy hours but didn't find out about it until I got home.

Of course this is a bit aways from Penn Station.
