I think it was United that flew a 747 between OAK and SFO for a short while. It was mostly a positioning flight on which they sold seats.

That has to be a record of some sort. The flight I was on was a Fairchild Metroliner twin turboprop. Nice little plane. I flew a Japanese domestic 747J flight from Haneda to Nagasaki once. That's the shortest 747 flight I've been on.
