Official Representation on Amtrak Unlimited?

I can see the Amtrak legal department going crazy if Amtrak was to have an official make contributions to this forum. Every word would have to be reviewed by a host of lawyers before the first keystroke.

I don't think it would be to best interest of Amtrak or AU.

As others have said, this is a great site just as it is.

I seriously doubt that happens on Facebook, Twitter and Flyertalk.

No reason this place would be any different.

I vote no. First of all, I don't think that Amtrak should 'officially' comment on any website other than its own. Why this site, as opposed to other, what are essentialy railfan sites? I just don't think that it is the correct way to handle corporate communications.

So keep things the way they are.

I do not believe that it is in our best interest to have "an official" Amtrak employed spokesperson on this forum. Amtrak has a public relations department and if the need arises for an official position, they can always be contacted.

As for this forum we have moderators and a committee that helps organize events and answer questions. Most of these people are well qualified to supply good info as they have spent many a night and many miles on passenger trains.
