I will be departing from Pittsburgh at 7:20am (I will stay a night in airport hotel).

Is it possible to see something in the city in the morning?

I will take a bus from airport to downtown (or maybe incline?) at 5:50am.

It takes ~30 min and it stops near incline.

Is it realistic to stop their, do incline and get to the station on time?

Or you would rather recommend to see something in downtown instead closer to the station?

Thank you.

I would suggest using the Westin Convention Center. It's a short 5 minutes by foot to the train station. Also a nice hotel.

I don't know if the incline is open at 6am. I'm not sure.

I'd say it's worth just staying on that bus and heading to PGH.

The Monongahela Incline is the closest incline to the Pittsburgh Amtrak station. It opens at 5:30 AM but I doubt if anything else is open at Station Square that hour. Its on the other side of the river so you will need to take a bus or cab there and back.

If you want a good breakfast Delucas in the strip district closeby opens at 5 AM and serves a marvelous breakfast at a reasonable price. Its about 7-8 blocks from the station ( 15 minute walk) and two blocks over. Delucas is at 2015 Penn Avenue (at 17th street) Pittsburgh, PA 15222-4417 (412) 566-2195.

Ok, I will probably skip inline since I will be short of time.

I travel to Pgh quite often. If you are comfortable using Priceline.com, I've gotten rooms at the Westin, Omni William Penn or the Renaissance for as low as $59/night.

That being said, I posted some similar advice to what you seek here.

If the weather is good you can enjoy a great walk down Penn Avenue (through the Cultural District) to the point where three rivers come together. See this:
