You can get LCH-EMY on a 2 zone award.

EMY-DEN on a 1 zone.

DEN-LAX on a 1 zone.

LAX-LCH on a 2 zone.

Number of points would depend on class of service:

All bedrooms: 2x25k + 2x40k = 130,000

All roomettes: 2x15 + 2x20 = 70,000

All coach: 2x5.5k + 2x8k = 27,000

You could ride AMbus from DEN-RAT on a cash ticket ($49) and then use a 2-zone for RAT-LAX-LCH.

Or I think Greyhound will get you from Denver to Raton even cheaper, though the connection is a bit tight, 10:15 am to 10:56 am.

I could be wrong, but I think the Greyhound bus and the AmBus are the same animal. I once saw the AmBus waiting at RAT and it was a Greyhound bus.
