I have an Amtrak travel credit. If I buy point run tickets with the travel credit funds will I still get the points I'm entitled to same as a cash or credit card buy. Thank you.

I'm a little confused about your question.

If you buy tickets using your AGR credit card, you get 2 points per $ spent for the purchase. And then when you travel on Amtrak, you earn another 2 points per $ (plus any bonuses) for the trip.

EDIT: I read your post wrong. If the credit is for something like an unused or cancelled ticket, then yes you do. If the credit was for something like a service disruption or goodwill, you're not supposed to, but many of us have!

I had BC seats for my wife and I from NPN-WAS and got the old bus trick. Not notified and not happy. Good for a $100. travel credit. I don't want to do a points run if i don't get the points. I'd rather just pay cash. But, if I have a credit and it works i'd rather use it.

Officially you are not supposed to get points for a ticket brought with that type of voucher. But as Dave mentioned, many have gotten points in the past. But there are no guarantees. So if you really need those points from that planned run for status or to have enough for an award coming up, then pay outright and save the voucher. If you're not desperate for either, then you can take the gamble.

Transportation credits from Customer Relations do not earn you any points if you use them to pay for a ticket.
