For some odd reason I've had odd troubles booking on the website. Has anyone else had this?

Back in Feburary, I noticed their system was down, so I waited until March to book my ticket to Chicago.

The system duplicated my order accidentally booked me two tickets. Upon waiting a week to get my refund back from them ordering twice, I had emails saying I had two reservation numbers.

Obviously one got cancelled, and since my trip isnt until June, I wasnt too worried, I figured I'd go back to the website sometime before then and figure out which wasnt cancelled. That was four weeks ago. I went on the website and tried both reservations, both give me errors. One gives me:

Problem retrieving your reservation: For additional assistance, please call 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245).
[Error ID: 999S]

(I cant find this error code anywhere. Not even the assistant will tell me. She just says "I dont know what youre asking.")

The second being

The other being

Sorry for the inconvenience. Currently there is a system issue preventing your request from being processed.
[Error ID: 503S]

I'm so very confused which is the real one, and I sent an email but its not gone through at all.

Really though I'm terrified, I mean, what if they dont mark me as reserved ticket and I've been charged for nothing as every time I try amtrak's reservation system, it doesnt seem to work?

Aaaah. :( What to do? Any assistance? Does anyone else have troubles accessing their trip info?

So if I call someone they can pull it up? I wonder how to explain that I'm not sure of the reservation number. Eep. I hope they're friendly :(

If you say you've been "charged nothing", it's likely you don't have a ticket.

Definitely call up, explain the situation and give them both numbers and see what comes up.

Once an agent touches a reservation made online, it is no longer viewable online at all. However, if you call and speak to an agent, he/she can pull it up by the reservation number.
Several people have posted their experiences that show this is untrue.
