But had a surprise trip, the meeting included a 2 hour+ rail trip on the Alameda Coridor, and the Port of Long Beach/Port of LA on a couple of private business cars. Was an amazing trip so thought I’d share as the start of this rolling trip report.

Here are a few pics of this mornings excursion on the 1947 Milwaukee Hiawatha car Montana, and a former 1942 Pullman car converted to a business car Yerba Buena. My train tonight, won’t be quite as fancy. Nothing like these open ended observation cars! More tonight, from LA Union Station.

Finished up work, fought the LA traffic (how does anyone live here???? Seriously, traffic at 7 PM going INTO the city?????) and dropped the rental car and bags off at the station. We’re to grab a bite and a beer or 5, before boarding. Have been in and out of here a dozen times, and never made it to Phillipes for a French Dip. Not too bad! I did, however pass, on the pickled pig feet as a side.....
