This has really become a pet peeve of mine, but it would be really nice if while one was on the phone with AGR (having presumably entered one's AGR number and/or having one to enter) one was not treated to a repeated message encouraging one to sign up for AGR. Simply sticking to the soundtrack would be a marked improvement (especially when one is calling on the Select Executive line...you know, the one where you have to have spent an inordinate amount of time and money on Amtrak to use). Heck, it isn't even that bad of a classic rock soundtrack.

And has anyone, ever, heard a message that does not say "Our menu options have changed, so...."
My (local) internet company has that. They last changed their options...I believe sometime in the 1990s.

Still...in a way I think this is more annoying since it is so obviously off-key after a fashion. Also, the cut-away from the music causes me to "worry" that I've gotten through (if I'm on hold I'll put my phone on Speaker, set it to a reasonably low volume, and set it down.

When I get elected emperor, the message will be "Our menu options changed on such-and-such date."

And when I get done with overthrowing you I will outlaw telemarketers, with the punishment being the public humiliation of them for four days straight.

I only want to live under tyranny if I am in charge of it.

Down with the king!!
