My pass has expired on October 1. I've called the pass bureau then the website it guided me to and ended here. Has anyone received a new pass recently?.

While no one here can fix your situation .... someone may be able to point you in the right direction. But, like @caravanman said, most of us here are just enthusiasts and have never worked for Amtrak - although there are a few former and active Amtrak employees as members ... nothing official, though.

Amtrak no longer issues passes for Freight Retirees.

I think they only issued passes for those employed as of April 30, 1971 and then only on routes that traveled over the employee/retiree's home road.

Amtrak passes were issued to BNSF freight employees hired until 1980. ( I hired on in 1979 and immediately requested one.)

I learned in 2017 Amtrak cancelled all passes a year earlier in 2016. Neither BNSF/Amtrak ever notified me until I tried to use it.

Just curious, what does the retiree pass let you do?

If I remember correctly for those hired at BN after Amtrak took over in 1971 it was a 20% discount for travel. Tickets had to be purchased no earlier than 24 hours before travel to get the discount.

This forum isn't affiliated with Amtrak, we're mostly railfans who just enjoy taking the train. I doubt anyone here (except maybe the original poster -- if they're still on this forum) can help.

Better than nothing, I suppose, but those hired at host railroads prior to Amtrak start, got free coach travel on their “home roads”, and half fare over other host railroads. That, and half fare for sleeper accommodation’s.

Amtrak employees got free coach system-wide, and half fare for sleeper charges. None were good on Metroliner’s, IIRC…
