I usually stay at IHG hotels, to keep my points in one basket. ( I travel a LOT for work...points add up fast) But sometimes I need to stay at another hotel for meetings or conventions, when I do, I usually book through Rocketmiles for the AA miles. It's convenient, and I'd rather earn a lot of airline miles to accumulate in my FF account than some points at a hotel chain, casino hotel etc I rarely use. It's a decent way to earn airline miles actually, but the rates tend to be higher than I could sometimes book direct with the hotel, so it pays to check both ways.

I've used Rocketmiles in the past. No problems and the points posted promptly. HOWEVER, as noted above, many times you can get the same room for less by booking with the hotel's website. It depends upon the difference in price and the value of the points.

I use Expedia, but they really suggest I book a flight (which is something that I don't do), so time to consider switching to Rocketmiles. However, Expedia has one thing Rocketmiles does not have: Reserve now, pay later. I already have about 1200 Expedia Plus reward points. Now this calls for debate: Should I continue using Expedia and earn Expedia Plus points and enjoy Pay Later option, or should I switch to Rocketmiles and start earning AGR points, all the while forgoing Pay Later option?

Curious, how many AGR points does rocketmiles throw at you? AA miles are pretty generous, anywhere from 3000-10000 per stay. Might need to see what I can get in AGR points next time.

For example, if I am looking up hotels in Sacramento for July, they throw me 3000 to 7000 points per stay.

I just looked again at the email that I received. It states up to 10,000 points per night stay. However, after reading the fine print, this particular offer is for new customers only, and for one time only. I don't know if they offer AGR points as an ongoing proposition afterwards. Anybody have more information?
I am editing my post after reading more about this offer: apparently the new customer, first time use, one time use, is referring to a 2,000 points bonus only, if booked by June 30th. I hadn't noticed that before. Sorry if I created any confusion.
