San Marino on California Zephyr

Amtrak #5(14) came through Agency, Iowa this evening with the private observation car San Marino on the end.

On Train No. 5 that's Mr. Menzies personal car. CEO of the Aberdeen, Carolina, & Western Railroad

San Marino was heading back east on Amtrak #6(15) to Chicago today. I caught this California Zephyr at Ottumwa, Iowa. The train also happened to have the Big Game Train unit, AMTK 50, as its second engine.

102 years....those old 12 wheeled 'battleships' could withstand a direct hit from a hurricane, no problem...

It rode with Capital Limited #30 last night from Chicago. Don't know how far it went since I got off Pittsburgh this am.

The car lives in Candor, NC so if I was a betting person I would say expect it on 79
