There is your easy routing to seatac!I live within a five minute walk of the CH station!
The next extension, Northgate Link, to open in 2021, will include a station in the University District. You're right that the connections between Amtrak's King Street Station, the light rail, and the First Hill streetcar, are not convenient.Unfortunately this won't help the awkward connection between the light rail and Amtrak station, but it's still a good improvement. It also would have been better if the extension had further penetrated the campus/University District neighborhood. (I'd still have a good 20 minute walk to the office in that neighborhood that I visit once a year or so on business.) But I understand that costs have to be managed, etc. Hopefully it can be extended further north in the future.
I'm surprised that they didn't put a station at King Street Station a la LAUS. Its nice to be able to just jump off Amtrak or Metrolink and then quickly jump on the subway.Unfortunately this won't help the awkward connection between the light rail and Amtrak station, but it's still a good improvement. That decision was made in the 80's, and made permanent in 1990 when the downtown transit tunnel was built.I'm surprised that they didn't put a station at King Street Station a la LAUS.
