Select 12Hr Upgrade Coupon Question

I have just received 2 12 hour upgrade e-coupons for 2014 Select Status. My question is, when upgrading to First Class on Acela, does that automatically entitle you to access the Acela lounges (since those traveling on a First Class ticket may use the lounge), or do they differentiate between a First Class ticket that was purchased and one that was upgraded. I would hate to waste my Club Acela passes if I'm already entitled to access via the First Class upgrade. Thanks.

If you have a first class ticket, either by paying for it, using an upgrade, or redeeming an award, you can use the lounge. No additional card is needed.
