Select Status, & I Din't Even EARN It!

Imagine my surprise when I got a Select packet in the mail today, with the three 12-hour upgrades, and three C.A. passes.

I only earned about 3.500 TQP last year, but was Select+ the year before. Is this normal?

I've heard of airlines "rewarding" their STATUS patrons B4, is this was AGR is doing?

It'd be nice if AGR started a lifetime points based status thing like many airlines do.

For example, on United if I just have one points gathering or spending activity per year now, which is easy to do if you have an affinity credit card, I am Gold for life, and just 300,000 miles away from Platinum for life. At the rate I travel that works out to about 5 years of flying, i.e. about the time I plan to retire.

My S+ status is good for two years. (Exp. 02/27/15.) So will this mean I could get Select 2015-2016 if I earn no more points?

You would be Select for one year, from ~2/28/15-2/28/16.
