The security firm might be (partially) owned by a veteran, or better yet, a service-disabled veteran, and thus get an advantage in getting the contract. Whether the actual on-the-ground security guards are ex-military has nothing to do with whether the firm gets the contract. All my opinion.

I am surprised the security guard was armed. Most of them are not. I wouldn't be surprised if the security guard was an off dury cop.
