So I went to book a space on a Silver train to Florida and all of the trains are suddenly sold out for at least the next three days. Does anyone know what happened here (i.e. was it the Carolinian accident)?

Edit: SB space is...astoundingly un-available in the sleepers over the next few weeks (as in, I think the first roomette south I can find is almost two weeks out).

Next week, spring break begins for schools around me - could that have any impact on those bookings?

As noted in the thread on the Carolinian collision, the Auto Train is running tonight in both directions on your route, but both consists are getting a late start. Take it a day at a time and keep Amtrak on your speed dial.
