It must be warm in Sweden this summer...

According to this article male crew members, who work for Arriva on Sweden's Roslagsbanan line, are wearing skirts to work to protest their company's policy which prohibits wearing shorts to work.

There are so many places one could go with this, but I'll take the high road and just wonder if somebody's last holiday was in Scotland. :p

What do those Swedes wear under their skirts?

Swedish train driver Martin Akersten poses wearing a skirt in this May 31 2013 photo taken in Stockholm with his cell phone. Akersten says he and more than a dozen other drivers and conductors at the Roslagsbanan line in the Swedish capital have started wearing skirts in the summer as a protest against the train company's uniform policy, which doesn't allow shorts. A company spokesman says the company wants its staff to look "nice and proper," but can't stop men from wearing "women's clothes" if that's what they want because it would be discrimination. The problem with Akerstein's outfit is his necktie is a bit short. Unless it needs to be so for work purposes (not likely to be the case if he can also wear a skirt), it would look better if it reached almost to his belt.

Are there women who "drive" Swedish trains? Can they wear skirts to work?

Meanwhile, Sweden's Arriva lifts shorts ban for skirt-wearing drivers.
