SMART bridge funding in jeopardy

Apparently they were counting on $20 million to build a bridge to connect from San Rafael to Larkspur (near the Golden Gate Ferry terminal) but a big pot of $300 million has been slashed to $30 million and they may not have enough for this bridge.

However, a bridge was put in place in Petaluma for the project.

It looks like Congress is threatening the entire Small Starts program. That's not going to be popular. We'll see what happens if Congress ever passes a budget, which they might not this year.
